In order to minimise delays and congestion in the area, the following traffic arrangements will be put in place by An Garda Siochana to manage the Cemetery Sunday.
The annual Cemetery Sunday Mass will take place at Dardistown on the 6th July 2008.
It is estimated that up to 30,000 people could be in attendance and traffic delays are expected.
People traveling to Dublin Airport should give themselves extra time to get to the airport and take account of the traffic diversions in place.
People traveling to the Mass are urged to use public transport where possible.
In order to minimise delays and congestion in the area, the following traffic arrangements will be put in place by An Garda Siochana to manage the Cemetery Sunday Mass:
1. Collinstown Lane will be open to Dardistown Cemetery traffic between 1pm and 7pm only. No traffic will be permitted to access Collinstown Lane from the Swords Road during this period.
2. There will be no access to the Swords Road from Collinstown Lane (except Dardistown Cemetery car parks) between 1pm and 7pm.
3. Access to Dublin Airport for traffic will be via the M1 motorway. For traffic from Ballymun/M50 interchange via Naul Road/Forrest Road/Cloghran Roundabout. Long term car parks for airport will be accessible via same route.
4. Parking will be available to cars in adjoining fields to Cemetery. Access will be through entrances off Swords Road beside Dardistown Cemetery. No parking will be permitted on the Swords Road from Cloghran Roundabout - Quickpark Carpark.
5. Quick Park transfer buses to access Airport from the Swords Road or via the M1 subject to volume of traffic.
6. Dublin Bus/CIE routes as normal.
7. Airport traffic to Dublin Airport will be monitored during this period to ensure no obstruction to departing/arriving passengers.
8. Airport staff departing the Airport are requested to use exit via Castlemoate House during period.
9. Gardai will be on duty to regulate and control traffic during this period.
10. Stewards will be on duty to regulate car parking in fields adjoining Cemetery.
Patrons are asked to be patient and follow the signs and traffic disruption will be kept to a minimum.
