Drug seizure on the M50 on the 7/7/08.

Gardai from the Garda National Drug Unit have tonight seized 20kg of what is believed to be Heroin.

 

Gardai from the Garda National Drug Unit have tonight seized 20kg of what is believed to be Heroin (subject to analysis) on the M50 as part of a planned operation. 

One male in his early 20’s is currently being detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act. 1996.

He can be detained for a period up to 72 hours. 

The drugs seized are believed to be valued in the region of 4 million euro. 

No further details at this time.
