Gardaí at Ronanstown are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at approximately 6.40pm yesterday evening the 21/12/08 at the Argos Store, Liffey Valley Retail Park, Clondalkin, Dublin 22.
Gardaí at Ronanstown are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at approximately 6.40pm yesterday evening the 21/12/08 at the Argos Store, Liffey Valley Retail Park, Clondalkin, Dublin 22.
Two men entered the store and went across the counter. They were believed to be armed with a small axe and a mallet.
They took the male manager to the cash office and removed a substantial amount of cash.
Both men then exited through the rear of the building and went towards the Greenfort Estate.
Gardaí from Ronanstown responed immediately to the incident and recovered a holdall bag containing the cash, items of clothing and 2 balaclavas.
This discovery was made at the rear of the premises.
The store was busy at the time and there were at least 10 staff members working in the front area.
No one was injured during the course of this incident and no arrests have been made.
The 2 culprits are described as being in their 20's.
The first male is over 6ft, slim build, wearing a three quarter length two tone jacket, light coloured tracksuit, white runners and a black hoodie pulled up. He was wearing a black balaclava.
The second male is approximately 5' 10'', slim build, wearing similar clothing but he had a dark tracksuit bottoms. He also wore a dark balaclava.
Investigations are ongoing.
