Fatal shooting of Aidan O'Kane, East Wall on 7/012/08 and updates.
As part of the Garda investigation into the fatal shooting of Aidan O' Kane, searches were carried out at houses in the north inner city area today the 11th of December 2008. During the course of these searches a handgun and quantity of ammunition was recovered, this firearm will be subject to forensic and balistic tests.
An quantity of assorted illegal drugs was also recovered.
A 32 year old female who was in custody at Pearse Street Garda station in relation to this investigation has been released without charge.

Gardai in Store Street have arrested another male aged 18 years this morning and he is currently detained at Bridewell Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act.
There are now a total of 7 people in custody.

Two male teenagers arrested in relation to the Garda investigation into the fatal shooting of Aidan O' Kane were released from custody without charge last night.
They had been detained in Store Street.
Another 2 arrests were made this morning - a 32 year old female and a 33 year old male.
They are detained at Pearse Street and Store Street Garda Stations under section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act.
There are a total of 6 people presently in custody in relation to this investigation.

Gardai at Store St , Dublin investigating the fatal shooting of Aidan O' Kane on Sunday 7th December 2008 have this morning arrested a teenage boy in connection with this investigation.
He is currently detained at Whitehall Garda Station under Section 30 Offences Against The State Act.
He is the sixth person to be arrested following this incident.

Gardai investigating the fatal shooting of a 50 year old man in the East Wall area of Dublin last night (7/12/2008) are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Anyone who was in the area of Shelmalier Road/Bargy Road/Church Road, East Wall, Dublin 3 at the time of the shooting or who was passing through the area is asked to contact the incident room at Store Street Garda Station 01-6668089 or the Garda Confidential number 1800-666-111.
A press briefing will take place at Store Street Garda Station this afternoon. The time of the briefing will be announced later today (via press release)

Gardai at Store Street in Dublin are investigating a fatal shooting which occurred at Shelmalier Road/ Bargy Road, East Wall, Dublin 3 at approximately 7pm yesterday evening (7/12/08).
A 50 year old man received a gunshot wound and was taken to the Mater Hospital where he later died from his injuries.
The scene of the shooting remains sealed off pending a Garda technical examination and investigations are ongoing.
Gardai this morning (8/12/08) arrested a 13year old boy in relation to this investigation. He is currently detained at Store Street Garda Station under Section 30 Offences Against The State Act.
