Discovery of body in Dundalk, Louth on the 27/12/08 and update

Gardai at Dundalk Garda Station in Co. Louth, are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body on a lane off Avenue Road in the town, at about 11.50 pm on the 27th of December 2008 and update.

A post mortem examination on the body of a 24 year old man discovered in Dundalk, Co Louth on the 27th of December shortly before mid-night has concluded. The PM was carried out by Dr. Michael Curtis the Deputy State Pathologist.

Stephen Quigley of Kilkerley, Dundalk was found to have died as a result of stab wounds. The Garda investigation into his death is continuing.

Gardai are appealing for anyone who was in the Woodbury Gardens or Avenue Road area between 11p.m. and 12 midnight on the 27th of December, to contact them at Dundalk Garda station on 042 9388 400.

Gardai at Dundalk Garda Station in Co. Louth, are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body on a lane off Avenue Road in the town, at about 11.50 pm on the 27th of December 2008.

The body is that of a 24 year old man from Dundalk, Co. Louth and the emergency services were called by a member of the public. He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after mid-night.

The body remains at the scene pending the arrival of the State Pathologist and crime scene examiners from the Garda Technical Bureau.

There are signs of injury to the body, however a post mortem examination will be carried out to establish the exact cause of death.
