Gardai at Watercourse Road, Cork, are investigating a fatal road traffic collision, involving two cars, that occurred on Commons Road, shortly before 1am this morning, the 24/08/08.
A 25 year old female driver of one of the vehicles was fatally injured and later pronounced dead at Cork University Hospital. The passanger received minor injuries. The driver of the second car, who was alone, is receiving treatment for his injuries and is described as not life threatening.
All three were taken to Cork University Hospital.
This section of road is currently closed and diversions are in place from Fitz's Boreen and Killeens Junction. There is no access from Parklands onto the Mallow road.
