Gardaí went to a house on Dromin Green, Listowel, Co. Kerry where they discovered a female with a serious stab wound.
As a result of a 999 call made shortly before 5pm yesterday evening 25/4/08, Gardaí went to a house on Dromin Green, Listowel, Co. Kerry where they discovered a 38 year old female with a serious stab wound.
She was taken to Tralee General Hospital where her condition was described as being critical.
A 32 year old Lithuanian man was arrested at the scene and detained at Listowel Garda Station under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
He has since been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The injured party remains in Tralee General Hospital where her condition is stable.
