Gardaí in Cork investigating prostitution activity in the Cork City area have carried out searches and arrested one person.
The first search took place in the North Mall area of the city early on the 22/4/08.
One woman was arrested and she is currently being detained at Gurranabraher Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
A further search warrant was obtained and a second search took place in the south of the city where a quantity of cash and computer equipment was seized.
Investigations are continuing and updates will be provided in due course.
