Gardaí at Henry Street in Limerick are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred at in Garryowen, Limerick.
The man shot dead in Garryowen yesterday has been named as 40 year old Mark Moloney from Garryowen, Limerick.
The post mortem will take place at 1pm this afternoon in the Mid Western Regional Hospital Dooradoyle.

Investigating Gardaí are satisfied that the car used in the fatal shooting in Garryowen has been located, burned out, in Lickadoon, Ballyneety, near Drombanna.
It was a 91 TS registered black Toyota Celica.

Gardaí at Henry Street in Limerick are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred at approximately 2.45pm today in Garryowen.
A man in his 30's was approached by a black sports type car and a number of shots was fired at him by the front seat passenger.
He was fatally injured. His body remains at the scene, which is being preserved, and the services of The Garda Technical Bureau and The State Pathologist have been requested.
The location of this shooting was approximately 20 yards from the main entrance to the dog track.
