Gardai in Louisburgh Co. Mayo are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred at Old Head, Louisburgh, Co. Mayo.
The collision happened at 5.00pm on the 22nd April 2008 and involved a car and a jeep.
A 12-year old girl who had been a back seat passenger in the car was injured in the collision and was removed to Mayo General Hospital where she was subsequently pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
A 10-year old girl who was also a passenger in the car remains in a serious condition at Mayo General Hospital.
