Gardai in Enniscorthy investigating the fatal fire in Clonroche, Enniscorthy, Wexford.
The bodies of the Flood family from Clonroche, Co. Wexford have now been released by the Coroner for burial.
The investigation into the circumstances of the deaths is ongoing and any further developments will be reported.

Following a post mortem examination on the bodies of the Flood family the exact cause of death of the two adults have been established.
Diarmuid Flood died as result of a single gunshot wound to the head, Lorraine Flood died from a gunshot wound to the chest. The children's injuries were consistent with a fire, but this did not cause their death.
The post mortem process is ongoing to establish the exact cause.
The Garda investigation into the deaths continues and a technical examination at the scene is expected to continue for another two days.

Due the presence of asbestos at the site of this fire, the Crime Scene Investigation and consequently the post mortem examinations were temporarily suspended this afternoon.
The levels of asbestos have now been determined and additional personal protection equipment has been secured this evening.
The crime scene investigation will re-commence in the morning and the position regarding the post mortem examinations will be reviewed at that stage.
No further information is available at this time.

Following the discovery of four bodies in a house following a fire in Clonroche, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford this morning, (previous release 551/08 below refers), a Garda investigation is now underway.
A Garda Crime Scene Investigation Team attended the scene earlier and will continue their work tomorrow morning.
The deceased have been named as 41 year old Dermot Flood, his wife 36 year old Lorraine Flood, and their two children - Mark Flood aged 6, and Julie Flood aged 5.
The bodies of the deceased have all been removed to Dublin City Morgue in Marino, where postmortem examinations are due to begin at 11am tomorrow (Sunday) morning.
All four of the deceased have injuries consistent with fire. Neither of the children show signs of any other injury.
The bodies of Dermot and Lorraine Flood have other injuries, the cause of which cannot be determined pending full postmortem examinations.
A legally held shotgun was recovered at the scene. T
he relevance of this discoverey has yet to be determined.
There is no further information at present but updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.

Gardai in Enniscorthy investigating the fatal fire in Clonroche, Enniscorthy (Previous release 551/08 below refers) have advised the State Pathologist's Office, and a Crime Scene Investigation team is enroute from the Garda Technical Bureau.
Gardai will be in the position to brief the media later this evening when more facts have been established. We would appreciate if the media would refrain from contacting local investigation officers.

Gardaí at Enniscorthy are investigating a fatal fire that occurred in a 2 storey house in Clonroche,Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford.
Shortly after 5.30am this morning the alarm was raised by a man from a neighbouring house who discovered the fire.
A couple in their mid 40's and their 2 young children were found deceased in the house.
Their bodies remain at the scene.
The children concerned were a boy and a girl aged 7 and 8 years (it is unsure at the moment which one is 7 and which one is 8).
All aspects of this fire will be investigated and there is no further information available at this time.
