As part of an operation investigating serious crime and the distribution of illegal drugs, Gardai carried out a number of planned searched at locations in Limerick city.
The searches were carries out by up to 50 Gardai from local detective units, Divisional Detective Units, Garda Emergency Response Unit, Divisional Search Teams, Regional Dog Unit and local Scenes of Crime staff.
During a search at a house in the St Mary's Park area a quantity of Heroin and a sawn off rifle were recovered.
The drugs, subject to forensic analysis may have a street value of up to €95,000.
In a separate search on waste ground in the St Mary's Park area a quantity of shotgun cartridges and .22 ammunition was recovered.
There were no arrests and the operation and investigation is ongoing.
