Gardaí in Limerick are carrying out searches as part of the investigation into two shootings that took place in the city over the weekend of the 7th April 2008.
The post mortem examination on the body of 20 year old James Cronin has concluded.
It has been established that his death was caused by a gunshot wound.
The incident remains under investigation and any updates will be issued in due course.

The 18 year old man detained at Roxboro Road Garda Station in relation to recent incidents in Limerick will appear before a special sitting of Limerick District Court at 5.30p.m. this evening charged in connection with these investigations.
Gardai investigating the discovery of a body at Caledonian Park yesterday morning have identified the deceased as that of James Cronin, 20 years, from Ballinacurra Weston, Limerick.
Investigations regarding this incident are continuing.

Gardai wish to advise that the State pathologist Dr Marie Casssidy has visited the scene at Caledonian Park in Limerick this afternoon and has made a preliminary examination of the body.
The body remains at the scene and a full crime scene examination will take place at first light on the 8th of April.
There are no further details for release at this time regarding the age, sex or identity of the body.

Gardaí in Limerick are today, the 7th April carrying out searches as part of the investigation into two shootings that took place in the city over the weekend.
At approximately mid-day a body was found on waste ground close to the Caledonian Park area of Limerick.
The scene has been preserved, and the State Pathologist’s office has been notified, as has the Garda Technical Bureau.
Gardaí at Roxboro Road are appealing for any person with information (particularly anyone who was in the waste ground area within the last 48 hours) to contact them at the station.

As a result of the searches (which are ongoing) two firearms and ammunition were also recovered.
These have been sent for technical examination.
Signifiacant developments will be reported in due course.
Note: Details of age and gender etc of the body found will not be available until the arrival of the State Pathologist.
