Information, including any personal data, you enter in this App is stored locally on your mobile device and not shared or stored in any An Garda Síochána system. Data stored within the App on your device is the responsibility of an individual user. An Garda Síochána do not have access to any data stored in this App, this includes any personal data you enter or the details of any property recorded in the App.

This App provides the facility to back-up the data within the App using your preferred cloud storage provider. All users that choose to back up data to a cloud storage provider do so at the user’s own risk. An Garda Síochána do not have access to data backups.Your chosen cloud storage provider is responsible for the secure retention of any data backups provided by users in line with their terms of service.

The only personal data from the app provided to An Garda Síochána is the content provided by users when submitting a report of stolen property. Should you need to report stolen property to An Garda Síochána using the App, the information provided will be processed for the purposes of the exercise of An Garda Síochána’s statutory policing functions, as outlined the Garda Síochána Act 2005 (as amended). Per Section 70(1)(a) of the Data Protection Act 2018, Part 5 of that Act applies to the further processing of data provided to An Garda Síochána for the prevention, investigation, detection or prosecution of criminal offences, including the safeguarding against, and the prevention of, threats to public security; or, the execution of criminal penalties. An Garda Síochána will process all personal data provided in reports of stolen property in line with the provisions of Part 5 of the Data Protection Act 2018.

Statistical data is collected on the App to assist An Garda Síochána to improve performance and monitor the user experience of the app. This data does not include any personal data related to individual users.

De réir 70(1)(a) den Acht um Chosaint Sonraí 2018, baineann Mír 5 den Acht sin le tuilleadh próiseála sonraí atá soláthartha don Gharda Síochána le haghaidh coisc, imscrúdaithe, braite nó ionchúiseamh cionta coiriúla, san áireamh tá cosaint i gcoinne, agus cosc ar, bhagarthaí do shlándáil an phobail; nó, forghníomhú pionóis coiriúla. Próiseálfaidh An Garda Síochána gach sonraí pearsanta soláthartha i dtuairiscí sealúchais goidte de réir fhorálacha Mhír 5 den Acht um Chosaint Sonraí 2018.
