Update - Firearms recovered and arrests in Ballyfermot, Dublin 10 on the 21/5/19.
A third man was arrested yesterday (22/5/2019) by members of the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and the Special Crime Task Force investigating the recovery of a firearm during an intelligence led operation in Ballyfermot on 21/5/2019. He was detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939 at Kilmainham Garda Station. He has since been charged in connection with the case and is expected to appear before a sitting of Dublin District Court (Criminal Courts of Justice 1) this afternoon (23/5/2019).
Two men aged 47 & 52 years arrested at the time of the search were released without charge from custody on Wednesday evening. Files will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

As part of an intelligence led operation, targeting organised criminality in the Dublin area, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and the Special Crime Task Force carried out a search of a residence in the Ballyfermot area last night, the 21st May 2019.
During the course of the operation Gardaí recovered a firearm and arrested two males aged 47 and 52 years. They are currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act 39/98 at Ballyfermot Garda Station.
