Drug seizure and arrest at Blarney, Cork on the 1/4/14

As a result of an ongoing operation by Gardai from the Cork Divisional Drugs Unit based at Anglesea Street Garda station they searched a wooded area at Kilclough, Vicarstown, Blarney, Co. Cork on the 1st April 2014.

During the course of the search they uncovered 38 kilos of cannabis resin with an approximate street value of €228,000 (subject to analysis). 

A male 35yrs was arrested at the scene and conveyed to Gurranabraher Garda station where he is currently being detained under the provisions of section 2 of the Criminal Justice( Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 as amended.
