Theft of An Post Delivery Vehicle on the 22/8/13 at Lucan, Dublin

Gardaí at Lucan investigating an incident in which an An Post delivery van was stolen in the Rosscourt area, Lucan, County Dublin, today, 22nd August 2013 have arrested a male, 17 years.

He is currently detained at Lucan Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. 
 

The unoccupied van was taken by a sole male. An An Post employee received non-serious injuries while attempting to retrieve the delivery van and was taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital, Blanchardstown.


Gardaí recovered the An Post delivery van in Dunshaughlin, County Meath, a short time later.
 

Gardaí at Lucan are appealing for witnesses or anyone who was in the area of Rosscourt Grove, Lucan, Dublin, between 9.00 and 9.30am and Dunshaughlin Village, County Meath, between 10.00 and 11.00am, to contact them at Lucan Garda Station on 01-6667300, the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666111 or any Garda Station.
