Fatal House Fire in Galway

Gardaí at Salthill are investigating a fatal house fire that occurred in the early hours of this morning, Saturday 22nd October 2011, at Gilnockie, Lenereevagh, Barna, Co. Galway.

A 45 year old man was killed in the fire and his body remains at scene.  A 71 year old woman taken to UHG to be treated for smoke inhalation.

They were the only 2 people in the house at the time.

Gardaí were alerted to the call at 2am.
