Objectives and work of the Garda Research Unit

The Garda Research Unit (GRU) was established in 1994. The aim of the unit is to provide timely research of the highest quality to support An Garda Síochána.

 

The GRU is located in the Garda College, Templemore, Co. Tipperary.  It operates under the direction of the Head of the Garda Síochána Analysis Service (GSAS), Garda Headquarters, Phoenix Park, Dublin 8.  It has 6 members, who report to the Head of GSAS. 

 

 

Recent research projects include:

•   An assessment of culture for An Garda Síochána
•   Review of the quality of service to Victims of Crime
•   Review of the operation of the Garda Reserves
•   Garda Public Attitudes Survey 2010
