An Garda Síochána's youngest colleague - Garda Ceejay McArdle
Some of you may be familiar with our youngest colleague Garda Ceejay McArdle a 3 year old boy from Castleblayney, Monaghan currently fighting leukaemia.
Since Garda Ceejay was made an honorary Garda last September at Garda Headquarters he was been on special duty around the country inspecting Garda Stations and fellow colleagues.
Recently Ceejay was on temporary transfer in Cork City where he appeared on the RTE’s Today Show and had to arrest Dáithí Ó Sé for not eating his broccoli! After giving Dáithí a caution he inspected Anglesea Street Garda Station and took a visit to Haulbowline Naval base to meet the Irish Naval Service Military Police Section and Fota Island.
We would like to thank communities in Ireland and all our colleagues in the various police services from around the world and the Irish Naval Service who have joined us in sending Garda Ceejay and family messages of support in his battle against childhood cancer especially during his stays in hospital. Further duties await Ceejay!
Intake's 153 and 154 from An Garda Síochána Garda College participated in a march for Ireland's toughest Crime Fighter Ceejay Mc Ardle, led by Garda Steven Kelly, Garda Ivor Wilkinson and Garda Stephen Finn
All staff and students of the Garda College wish Ceejay all the very best with his treatment and we hope to see him in Templemore soon!
